What it does
Semax is a heptapeptide derived from the ACTH(4-10) fragment but stripped of any hormonal (corticotropic) activity. Developed in Russia and on the WHO essential medicines list there for stroke recovery, it is one of the most well-characterised nootropic peptides for cognition, attention and neuroprotection. Effects are typically felt within minutes of intranasal dosing and persist for several hours.
How it works in the body
It boosts the brain's own 'fertiliser' chemicals (BDNF and NGF) that help nerve cells grow stronger connections — basically helping your brain learn and remember better. It also tops up the feel-good and focus chemicals (dopamine and friends) and protects brain cells when they're under stress.

- Typical research dose: 0.25–0.6 mg (250–600 mcg) per administration.
- Pen units (U-100)
- At 5 mg/mL: 0.3 mg (300 mcg) = 6 units, 0.6 mg (600 mcg) = 12 units on a U-100 peptide pen.
- Frequency
- 1–2× per day in the morning and early afternoon, often run in 10–14 day cycles.
